Formula SimRacing – VBMadCape Win In Australia

Jim Parisis Wins In Australia

Jim Parisis and George Manousakis took to the track at the weekend to tackle the Formula Sim Racing World Championship season opener in Melbourne. The guys had practiced hard in the pre-season to make sure that they would be competitive from the get go.

Qualifying went well for the 2 drivers, especially taking into consideration that Jim is now with a new team and George has never raced at Formula SimRacing before. Jim managed a 1:26.1 to secure second place on the grid alongside Origin Front Row driver Jeroen Kweekel. George made a valiant effort in his first qualifying session in the series to grab 8th position on the grid.

Jim had a brilliant start and lead the race into turn 1 but lost the position heading into the second sector. George managed to make his way up to 6th position during his first stint. He unfortunately suffered a disconnection which ended his race early though.

Jim took the lead again on lap 3 as Origin Front Row driver Jeroen Kweekel suffered a hardware failure which sent him off the circuit. Jim controlled the race very well from the front of the pack and pulled a massive lead over the competition throughout the race.

Thanks to a well-planned strategy, Jim managed to lead after every round of pit stops. Jim eventually had a 30 second lead over the rest of the field when he crossed the line to win the first race of the season.

We’re very proud of the teams achievements in the first round of this new season. It also marks the first win for us in the form of VBMadCape. Congratulations to Jim and George who were rewarded for their hard work with a win. We look forward to Bahrain and can’t wait to take to the track again.
